Basic food items like rice, fish, fruits, vegetables, sweetmeats, etc. are adulterated with hazardous chemicals like calcium carbide, oxytocin, ethephon, formalin, coating materials and different additives in an indiscriminate manner in Bangladesh. Food adulteration with poisonous chemicals has reached a dangerous proportion posing serious health hazards in the country people. Chemicals residues in food items leave the worst impact on children's mental and physical growth and women's fertility besides it causes cancer, and damage vital human organs like skin, eye, liver, kidney, lungs and heart. U.S. Department of Agriculture  At Food Politics, Marion Nestle shares an interview with Tom Nassif , the CEO of the Western Growers. Nassif represents this trade association for industrial agricultural producers in the West and Southwest. He discusses how immigration issues affect farm labor from the perspective of producers. The entire interview is worth reading, but I want to highlight the following two questions and answers, commentingby way of the work of Frank Bardackeon the second one below:   1. Some people say farmers just have to pay more for their labor . Anyone who is an enlightened observer of immigration reform and agriculture knows thats not true. Wages have continually gone up. And the supply of labor keeps diminishing. Its not the wages, its the work. This is a difficult job. This is seasonal. This is migratory. This is not full time. Why is an alpha level of 0.05 commonly used by the researcher?

Common statistically significant levels are 5%, 1% and 0.1% depending on the analysis Statistically significant results  are required for many practical cases of  experimentation  in various branches of research.  The concept of statistical significance can be understood by minimum level at which the null hypothesis can be rejected. This means if the researcher sets the statistical significance level at 5% and the probability that the results are a chance process is 3%, and then the researcher can claim that the null hypothesis can be rejected. In this case, the researcher will call his results to be statistically significant. Lower the significance level, higher the confidence.  The choice of the statistical significance level is influenced by a number of parameters and changes with different experiments.  In most cases of practical consideration, the distribution of parameters or qualities follows a normal distribution. However, care should always be t...
